Find your perfect wedding shoes

Which girl does not remember the romantic moment when Cinderella’s prince slipped the shoe on her foot and proclaimed her to be his true love?
And there started the relentless quest of every bride to find the perfect wedding shoe for her wedding day! If you have been hunting high and low for that magical shoe, below are some great tips on how to find your perfect wedding shoes!
How High Should Wedding Shoes Be?
Before you look for your wedding shoes, discuss the length of your wedding gown with your wedding gown designer or bridal studio assistant as wedding gowns are usually designed for shoes of at least 3 inches to give it sufficient height and length to look beautiful. If you have a long train or a full skirt, consider getting a pair of heels that are at least 3 to 4 inches to avoid stepping on or tripping over your dress.

Wedding Shoe Tip: The front of the skirt is especially vulnerable to being stepped on when you are walking or getting up from a seated position.

Comfortable Wedding Shoes Are Essential
The key for wedding shoes are always comfort, comfort and comfort. You will be on your feet for most of your wedding day and a pair of shoes that look lovely but are uncomfortable will have you hobbling in pain by your wedding dinner. Try to get shoes with good cushioning and practice walking and standing in them for a while before you buy them. Your feet will thank you!

Wedding Shoe Tip: Don’t scrimp on your wedding shoes. You don’t need Jimmy Choos but remember that cheap shoes often do not have enough support for long-lasting wear throughout the day.
Do Wedding Shoes Have To Be White?
Well, not necessarily! Often, only the tips of your wedding shoes will be seen under your wedding gown or perhaps not at all if your skirt is long. So, if you wish to add some colour to your wedding, why not consider wearing a pair of coloured shoes in your favourite colours instead of boring white? It will be much easier to find a pair of glamorous shoes in any colour except white!

Wedding Shoe Tip: Using different color wedding shoes means you can easily wear them again after your wedding instead of keeping them in the cupboard!
What Type Of Wedding Shoes?
Should you opt for open-toe or covered wedding shoes? Well, it depends on the formality of your wedding reception and ceremony. Open toe wedding shoes look fun and flirty for beach or garden weddings while covered shoes look better for church ceremonies or a grand wedding dinner. Satin covered shoes also tend to look more elegant peeping from under a wedding gown. However, ultimately, it is your choice and what you feel most comfortable in!
Wedding Shoe Tip: Wearing covered wedding shoes helps if you do not have nice toes or don’t have time to get a pedicure!

Happy wedding shoe hunting with these tips on finding your perfect wedding shoe!
